COMMUNITY. CONNECTION. EDUCATION.
Welcome to the Center for Advanced Studies in Digital Asset Management (CASDAM) - dedicated to advanced education in digital asset management.
Our focus stems from DAM but recognizes and engages with the wider organizational, operational and technical landscape that DAM resides in.
CASDAM acts as a convening point and clearinghouse as the needs for continuing education unfold.
CASDAM & DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
DAM is entering its third decade as part of how we manage the digital world. From the earliest projects in publishing, the studio community, corporate archives, and museums, bringing this then new and vaguely defined software was an uncertain journey. DAM as a practice emerged into the digital landscape with no set “end-point”. In this way, DAM stood from the beginning (and still today) in often unconscious but startling contrast to more traditional enterprise resource planning, accounting and other transactional applications.
DAM often had to fit into a “mindset” about enterprise software with repeatable processes and technology governance, but the end-points – the use cases supported by DAM – keep changing. DAM contributes to an unending diversity of use cases, and as we have seen, cannot be exclusively managed like payroll, accounts payable, e-commerce or other evolving and remarkable – but narrowly measured – applications.
CASDAM is dedicated to achieving excellence in applying DAM this world of possibilities.
DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY MODEL
Designed to help give the global DAM community a tool to self-assess against the common measures for how an organization is doing with DAM.
